Pedestrian hit by car, critically injured while crossing Las Vegas street

A pedestrian was hit by a car and critically injured early today while crossing a street against the walk signal, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported about 12:30 a.m. on Industrial Road at Wyoming Avenue, police said.

The pedestrian was in the crosswalk when he crossed into the path of the car, which was headed north on Industrial and had a green light, police said.

The pedestrian, who had not been identified, was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver, a 26-year-old Las Vegas man, remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
