Police: Motorist dead after shooting on Las Vegas freeway

A motorist died Thursday night after a shooting on a Las Vegas freeway, according to Metro Police.

Metro received a report about 8:30 p.m. of a shooting on southbound Interstate 15, north of Flamingo Road, police said.

Officers found the driver of a gray SUV suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No details were released about the shooting, and police said the investigation was ongoing.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will released the man’s name, police said.
