Police: Motorist dead after crash north of Las Vegas

A motorist was pronounced dead after a single-car crash on a highway north of Las Vegas, according to the Nevada State Police.

The crash was reported about 6:45 a.m. on northbound U.S. 95, about 16 miles north of the Las Vegas city limits, police said.

The car drove off the highway, where it hit a culvert and went airborne before landing on its wheels, police said.

The driver was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, police said. It’s unknown if the motorist suffered a medical episode before the crash, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s office will release the driver’s name after their family has been notified, police said.
