Las Vegas police investigating shooting, barricade situation

Metro Police said they were investigating a shooting and barricade situation in the west valley, but no injuries have been reported.

The incident was reported about 11:30 a.m. today in the 4400 block of South Durango Drive, north of Peace Way, police said.

A male suspect was believed to be barricaded in a nearby residence in the 4500 block of South Bonita Vista Street and was refusing to come out, police said.

SWAT officers and crisis negotiators were on the scene to assist, police said.

Metro advised people to avoid the area because of the heavy police presence.
