Pedestrian killed after being hit by vehicle in alleged hit-and-run in Las Vegas

A man died after being hit by a vehicle, and the driver was arrested on hit-and-run charges in the vicinity of UNLV campus early this morning, according to a Metro Police news release.

The 33-year-old was struck by a Nissan Altima shortly after 3 a.m. on Paradise Road south of Naples Drive, the release stated.

The man had been walking in the second lane from the left then he was hit.

The Nissan when failed to remain at the scene and fled, the release stated.

The suspect, Van Burrell, 33, was later located by police and was arrested on hit-and-run charges, the release stated.

The incident remains under investigation.
