Biker killed after colliding with car in west Las Vegas

A motorcyclist was killed in a multiple-vehicle collision this morning, according to a Metro Police news release.
The collision occurred on North Rampart Boulevard at Canyon Run Drive at about 10:12 a.m.
As a BMW 228I was turning left from Rampart on a green light, the motorcycle was coming from the other direction. As the BMW turned, it collided with the bike, causing the 27-year-old rider to be ejected onto the roadway. He was then run over by a sanitation truck.
The biker was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the BMW was taken to UMC for further evaluation. Neither the driver of the sanitation truck nor a passenger were injured.
