Dandre Owens, 29, was identified as a suspect in the case. He was taken into custody Sunday and booked at Clark County Detention Center.
Officers initially responded to a resort in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard regarding a welfare check request on Jan. 29.
Responders found an unconscious woman in a room with an apparent gunshot wound. She was declared dead at the scene.
Owens faces multiple felony charges, including open murder with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and owning or possessing a gun by a prohibited person.
The Clark County coroner’s office said the woman, Brittani Bailey, 29, died of a gunshot wound to the head and ruled her death a homicide.
