A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed Tuesday, and the driver was arrested on hit-and-run-related counts, according to Metro Police.
The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. on Tropicana Avenue, west of Rollingwood Circle, police said. The car was headed west when it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the street outside of a marked or implied crosswalk, police said.
The pedestrian, a 42-year-old Las Vegas man, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver, a 62-year-old Las Vegas man, failed to remain at the scene and was arrested at his home, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
