Police: Man in altercation at Las Vegas Strip resort before his death

A suspicious death in October on the Las Vegas Strip has been ruled a homicide, the result of a head injury, according to Metro Police.

Homicide detectives were made aware Nov. 22 of the death that occurred on Oct. 29 in the 3000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South, police said.

Medics responded to a call Oct. 29 about a man, later identified as 47-year-old Christopher Tapp, suffering from injuries from a purported accident, police said. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.

Through their investigation, detectives learned Tapp was in an altercation inside a room at a resort before he was located and transported to the hospital, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has since ruled his death as homicide as the result of blunt force trauma to the head, police said.
