Two men were killed in a shooting Wednesday evening, according to a Metro Police news release.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Chicago Avenue.
Patrol officers found one man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on a sidewalk, the release stated. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Shortly afterward, dispatch received a report of three people arriving at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. Officers responded and were able to determine their injuries were related to the Chicago Avenue shooting.
One died at the hospital, one was in critical condition and another suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the release stated.
Through investigating, officers determined an altercation between two groups of people escalated to gunfire, leading to the victims’ wounds.
