North Las Vegas Police: Man arrested on DUI count after fatal pedestrian crash

A driver was arrested on a DUI count after a fatal pedestrian crash early today, according to North Las Vegas Police.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight near Martin Luther King Boulevard and June Avenue, police said.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old man, was crossing Martin Luther King outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a northbound car, police said.

He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release his name, police said.

The driver, Marc Du Shane Wesley, 57, remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment, police said.

He was arrested and booked at the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center on counts of DUI resulting in death, possession of a controlled substance and driving without a driver's license, police said.
