Two suspects in custody in 2023 North Las Vegas shootings

North Las Vegas Police identified two suspects in an October shooting death, and both are in custody according to a news release.
Kalife Khayon Ayers, 37, and Marcus Raynard Smith Jr., 41, have been identified as the suspects in the incident that left one man dead and another injured on Oct. 7, police stated.
The shooting occurred in the early morning at an apartment in the 4200 block of East Craig Road.
Ayers was taken into custody on June 26 in Harbor City, Calif., and was extradited to Nevada on Friday, the release stated.
Smith was taken into custody on Oct. 19, also in Harbor City, and was extradited to Nevada on Nov. 21.
Both suspects have been booked into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center on charges of open murder and attempted murder.
