Motorcyclist killed after collision with pickup in Las Vegas

A motorcyclist was killed today after being involved in a collision with another vehicle, according to a Metro Police news release.

The incident occurred at about 3:26 p.m. on South Durango Drive at the intersection with West Arby Avenue, the release stated.

The motorcycle was traveling on Durango at a high rate of speed when it collided with a Chevrolet Colorado turning left from the opposite direction. The front of the bike hit the right rear of the Chevrolet, ejecting the rider, the release stated.

The motorcyclist was taken to UMC Trauma, where he died of his injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet sustained claimed injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
