Updated Monday, June 24, 2024 | 5:14 p.m.

One person has died in a multivehicle crash today in the east Las Vegas Valley, according to Metro Police.

As a Lexus ES350 was attempting to turn right from a private drive onto Nellis, a Kia traveling in the same direction hit the Lexus from behind. This began a series of collisions, as the Lexus then struck the left side of a Honda Civic. The Kia swerved across the raised median into oncoming traffic, where it crashed into a Ram 2500 coming in the opposite direction, the release stated.

The driver of the Kia was transported to Sunrise Hospital where the 21-year-old male succumbed to his injuries and died, according to the release.

The driver of the Lexus was self-transported to an urgent care facility for claimed injuries.

The driver of the Honda was taken to Sunrise Hospital with minor injuries; the passenger also went to Sunrise but had no injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Ram were also taken to Sunrise with claimed injuries.

All involved parties cooperated with the investigation and did not show signs of impairment, police stated.
