Las Vegas police: Suspect, 18, arrested in fatal shooting of boy at apartment

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the death of a juvenile who was shot inside an apartment in the northeast valley, according to Metro Police.

The suspect, Browdy Lee Shaffer, was arrested Wednesday and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of open murder, police said.

The shooting was reported about 4:40 p.m. Monday in the 6900 block of Kepler Drive, police said. Officers found a boy suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

The boy was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
