Woman dies after apparently being dropped off by suspicious vehicle in Las Vegas

A woman died Tuesday afternoon after being found injured on Polaris Avenue under suspicious circumstances, according to a Metro Police news release.

A coroner’s investigation found the 38-year-old’s injuries to be consistent with being struck by a vehicle, the release stated.

A caller reported seeing an injured woman lying against the curb on Polaris north of South Highland Drive at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Arriving personnel transported her to UMC Trauma, where she died shortly after arrival.

A nearby business surveillance camera captured a 2013 Ford Fusion stopping on Polaris. The vehicle’s front passenger door opened and the woman appeared to fall out and onto the roadway, where she was later discovered. The Fusion then fled the scene.

The vehicle was later located by detectives in the northeast area of the valley, the release stated.

The situation remains under investigation, and no suspects were identified in the release.
