Closure planned for 215 Beltway in Summerlin for pedestrian bridge installation

Northbound lanes of the 215 Beltway will close overnight Thursday into Friday morning as construction crews install a new pedestrian bridge over the freeway, Clark County officials said in a news release.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Thursday between Far Hills Avenue and the Summerlin Parkway interchange. All northbound lanes will remain closed until 5 a.m. Friday.

During the closure, northbound traffic will be rerouted to the Summerlin Parkway off-ramp, then redirected north on the Summerlin Parkway Interchange back to CC-215, officials noted.

Motorists traveling through the area are urged to use caution in work zones and consider alternate routes.

The bridge installation is part of the $1 billion CC-215/Summerlin Parkway Interchange project, which includes reconfiguring the interchange between northbound and southbound beltway and eastbound and westbound Summerlin Parkway.

The project calls for new bridges, widening of the existing Summerlin Parkway bridge and three new underpasses to extend the City of Las Vegas Trail across the beltway.
