Chennedy Carter had a team-high 17 points Sunday for the Las Vegas Aces and Jackie Young added 17 points and four assists in a 94-78 victory against the Japanese national team at Michelob Ultra Arena.
It was the preseason opener for the defending WNBA champion Aces.
A’Ja Wilson, the Aces — and arguably league’s — best player didn’t play, but six Las Vegas players scored in double figures.
Chelsea Gray had 16 points, Jewell Loyd had 13 points and Kierstan Bell scored 14 points off the bench. NaLyssa Smith added 11 points.
The Aces’ last preseason game is May 3 against the Dallas Wings. They open the season May 9 against Phoenix at T-Mobile Arena.
