6 Vegas nightclubs crack list of country's hottest

Las Vegas nightclubs took five of the first 10 spots on the "Top 25 Clubs in the U.S." ranking released last week by Clubplanet.com. XS at Wynn came in at No. 4, behind only LIV in Miami Beach, The Pool After Dark in Atlantic City and Boom Boom Room in New York.

The Strip is no stranger to setting the menu when tens of thousands of cowboys and their fans come to town. “The food they like is simple and straightforward,” MGM Grand director of food and beverage Jerry Box says. “Meat and potatoes. They like less vegetables and no sides, no salads and larger-portion steaks. So, that’s pretty much what we do across the board.”

Scott DeGraff, formerly a high-profile Las Vegas nightclub executive who co-founded the N9NE Group with restaurateur Michael Morton, was found dead Thursday in what Aspen, Colo., police preliminarily said appeared to be a suicide.
The interactive menu at Andre's, inside the Monte Carlo, allows customers to search and browse the food and wine list, read descriptions, view labels, and send themselves an email of the wine selection.

The venerable leather-bound wine list is undergoing a digital transformation at some Las Vegas restaurants. Walk into a number of high-end eateries on the Strip, and a waiter will hand you an iPad. Patrons using the devices can sort through different screens to list wines by region, grape, type or price. They can read in detail about a particular varietal or vineyard, or click to see a sommelier’s food pairings.

CityCenter attorneys this week sided with star tenant Eva Longoria in a dispute in the Beso restaurant bankruptcy case, agreeing the case should not be dismissed as demanded by disgruntled Beso investor Mali Nachum.

Eva Longoria faces more legal drama as an investor in her Las Vegas restaurant Beso is asking that Beso's Jan. 6 bankruptcy petition be thrown out of court, charging it was filed in bad faith. Attorneys for the investor, Mali Nachum, said in court papers filed Tuesday that Beso at the Crystals mall was "operating at a huge profit margin" while she and her husband Ronen Nachum were managing the restaurant and Eve nightclub.
