A welterweight title bout between UFC champion Georges St. Pierre and No. 1 contender Josh Koscheck has been scheduled for Dec. 11, according to Koscheck.
Currently in Las Vegas to film the twelfth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," Koscheck broke the news via his twitter account Tuesday morning. The date comes just one week after the show is set to conclude on Spike TV.
"Can't wait until TUF 12 airs in September," Koscheck wrote. "And oh yeah, did you guys know, that I am going to be the next welterweight champion come Dec. 11?"
The event appears to be on track for UFC 123. No official venue has been announced for the fight, although Koscheck has lobbied for it be held in his hometown of Pittsburgh.
Winner of his last three fights, Koscheck (17-4) earned the opportunity to coach on TUF opposite St. Pierre with a unanimous decision win over Paul Daley at UFC 113 in May.
St. Pierre (20-2) is riding a seven-fight win streak, which has included four consecutive title defenses. In his most recent fight, St. Pierre dominated Dan Hardy in a five-round decision win at UFC 111 in March.
The two fighters have met once before, with St. Pierre walking away with a unanimous decision in August 2007.
Filming of the reality series, in which the two serve as opposing coaches, began the first week of June. The show debuts Sept. 13 on Spike TV.
