LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

No doubt about this foolishness

To quote President Abraham Lincoln, “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”

In a recent survey by YouGov.com, a simple question was asked: Which Republican president was better, Trump or Lincoln? Fifty-three percent of Republicans favored Trump over the Civil War hero. His followers have even insinuated that Trump is the second coming of God and the King of Israel, and that’s nothing short of blasphemy.

Trump’s followers may have chosen a godless, amoral individual to be their savior, and that’s their cross to bear, but don’t think the rest of us will do the same. Some of us, regardless of party affiliation, have a belief in God and this country that we will not compromise. And to think we would give up our values and morals as easily as they seem to have done shows how incredibly gullible they are.

Please, President Trump and followers, stop removing our doubts.
