In the Dec. 21 letter “It’s time to heal, stop complaining,” the writer argues that the American people should support our elected leaders and that we should thank President Donald Trump for all of his accomplishments.
But Trump’s actions and rhetoric in support of racism, misogyny, xenophobia, anti-semitism, etc., are why we must complain to seek redress of such social ills.
This country is not perfect, so anyone who believes we all should love this country or leave it is free to change their address to a foreign port. Alternatively, get over it and stop complaining, as patriotic Americans should always speak truth to power.
