Please, everyone, read the transcript of President Donald Trump’s telephone call to the Ukrainian president. You really don’t have to go much further in your investigation to conclude that Trump illegally shook down an American ally under military siege by the Russians for his own personal gain.
You can call this bribery, you can call it extortion, or you can call it attempted bribery or attempted extortion. They all amount to the same thing — a serious abuse of power, which is sufficient grounds for removal through impeachment.
The transcript has it all — the demand for Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son, the withholding of funds needed to obtain arms, and Trump explicitly stating the quid quo pro.
All legitimate defenses by the Republicans for this president fall by the wayside, in light of this transcript. So, yes, by all means, read the transcript.
