Letter to the editor:

Trump can’t name sources

President Donald Trump called in to “Fox & Friends” on Nov. 22 for a nearly hourlong interview, during which he repeated already-debunked claims that Ukraine is harboring the Democratic National Committee’s servers that the FBI determined were hacked by Russia in the lead-up to the 2016 election. During this exchange, host Steve Doocy asked, “Are you sure they did that?”

“That is what the word is,” Trump responded.

His “source” is “the word.”

This is a man who has:

• declined to accept the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election

• said he’s not going to listen to the CIA, which determined it’s likely that Saudi Arabia’s crown prince knew of plans to kill journalist Jamal Khashoggi

• tweeted about “fake news” hundreds of times — often claiming prominent, legitimate media outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post and CNN are “fake news.”

Let’s not forget Trump’s longtime insistence, based on “somebody told me,” that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.

We are all truly at the Mad Hatter’s tea party.
