The Trump administration failed to protect the American people from the coronavirus. When President Donald Trump learned that the virus was spreading throughout the world, he called it a hoax. Instead of ordering his health experts to come up with a plan to protect the American people, he ordered the intelligence community to keep their reports classified. Members of Congress got the classified reports and used that information to sell stock while the rest of America was kept in the dark.
Had Trump acted earlier, we could have used testing and isolation to control the spread of this virus and avoided the widespread shutdowns that are harming our economy. Trump made the decision to protect his ego and his re-election bid instead of protecting the American people. Now we are all paying the price.
