The selection of Kamala Harris to be Joe Biden’s running mate highlights the demise of the Trump administration.
On all fronts, the comparison could not be more clear. We have a president with no compassion, which is even acknowledged by Republicans, running against a man known for compassion and kindness. We have a corrupt president now facing a highly successful former attorney general.
We have a president who has proven unable to work with Congress now facing two successful senators.
We have a Democratic candidate and his running mate, both successful in helping the country out of a bad recession, facing a president and vice president who could not mount a national defense against a pandemic and who therefore failed to keep the country out of terrible economic catastrophe.
Finally, we have a Democratic ticket that will be extremely popular to minority voters versus a president who has exposed his own racism, and a woman on a ticket who will run opposite a known misogynist.
