It was inevitable, in the current climate, that the renaming of McCarran International Airport would surface again. While not opposed to that idea, I believe that common sense should prevail.
The most reasonable solution would be simply to name it Las Vegas International Airport. Only 18 airports are named after people, and most were done so posthumously. If legislators find it necessary to personify it, honor a true Nevada heroine, Sarah Winnemucca. That would be nonpartisan and politically correct.
