LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Earth strained by humanity

The latest prediction/projection/estimate made by the United Nations is that the human population will grow by about 3.2 billion between now — when the best estimate of worldwide population is about 7.7 billion — and the year 2100.

That represents a growth of over 40% in just 80 years. Every problem today faced by humanity will not be solved, or even ameliorated, unless the human population is substantially decreased.

For example, every horror predicted by scientists that will occur to humanity in the very near future due to global warming will happen unless the human population is decreased. No action taken by humanity will prevent those horrors from occurring, unless the human population decreases.
