I urge the U.S. Congress and President Donald Trump to provide the United States Postal Service with the funding it needs to remain fully operational. All Americans and millions of businesses depend upon the essential, unmatched services of the Postal Service.
The USPS sorts and delivers millions of letters and packages six days a week to people and businesses. Postal rates are still reasonable compared with those of other nations. Postal workers dutifully deliver the mail while assuming the risk of contracting the coronavirus as they deal with massive volumes of mail and customers year-round.
Americans cannot allow Trump and congressional Republicans to destroy the Postal Service. These politicians are keenly aware that as more people vote by mail, Republicans are likely to lose in elections. We must not allow the recklessness of the Republicans to destroy our democracy and deprive society of necessary products delivered through the USPS.
