LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

President just can’t be trusted

False or misleading claims by President Donald Trump have dominated his presidency. As of January, he had made over 16,000 such claims. It is noteworthy that since January, during the coronavirus pandemic, such false and misleading claims have increased on a daily basis.

As of April 3, the total number of false and misleading claims by Trump during his presidency had increased to 18,000, which means he averaged 15 per day in those months. During a recent 75-day period, the daily average of such claims increased to 23, including the whopper that Trump is taking hydrochloroquine, a medication in which his family trust has a significant financial interest.

Really, a 73-year-old man whom Nancy Pelosi was kind in describing as morbidly obese and whose lunch staple is McDonald’s, is taking a medication the Food and Drug Administration has identified as causing heart problems?

If we can’t expect truth from Trump, how can we expect loyalty? Trump is loyal only to Trump and his own personal interests.

We must vote this congenital liar out of office.
