LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

We’ve heard enough already

Another U.S. democratic norm bit the dust this month. Since 1960, we have had presidential debates take place before each election. This was not a debate, it was an embarrassment.

It was President Donald Trump’s open statement that he doesn’t give a damn about elections, and he is not going to abide by one.

Instead of showing care about election violence, he openly sent a message to a white supremacist group to be ready for more violence. Instead of running for president, Trump openly told us he would be sending any election result to the courts, where he expects eventual help from the U.S. Supreme Court to give him four more years in office.

There should not be any further presidential debates. The television audience simply will not be there for additional pain and humiliation.
