Some crooks prowl at night. Others will pick your pocket in broad daylight.
Air Force One and Two, as well as Marine One, are at the president’s disposal to conduct the nation’s business. Campaigning, though, has nothing to do with performing the duties of the presidency. It is a personal endeavor, and the American taxpayer shouldn’t have to take it in the shorts every time these planes are used to uber President Donald Trump or Vice President Mike Pence to a campaign rally.
These costs should be billed back to the Trump campaign, and if not, why not? They should also pay extra for the in-kind benefit of having Air Force One used as a backdrop at these whistle stops.
In all fairness, Trump should personally pay for the tremendous cost of assembling the crew and firing up the jumbo jet so he can skip off for a weekend of golf at one of his properties or take a trip to Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
It’s time to put an extra lock on the nation’s hen house, because this guy thinks nothing of stealing all the eggs in the basket or taking every cookie from the jar.
