Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is a Donald Trump wannabe. Like Trump, he couldn’t care less about air pollution and global warming. So Bolsonaro is fast-tracking the destruction of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil.He wants mining, lumber and cattle businesses to have the freedom to devour as much of the rainforest as possible for profit.
The flora of the Amazon rainforest absorb and neutralize considerable amounts of carbon emissions and other air pollution on Earth. It is also home to rare species of plants and animals that are found nowhere else.
Bolsonaro is emulating Trump’s short-sighted and mercenary environmental policies. As a result, Earth and its inhabitants will suffer even more devastation and destruction from severe and unchecked climate change, and the willful obliteration of natural habitats.
