Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne, whose column “Only by enlarging the Supreme Court can liberals save its integrity” was published in the Dec. 22 edition of the Sun, claims that the United States needs to undo the conservative majority on the Supreme Court to save democracy.
But rather than seek a neutral court, he wants to pack it with four more progressive judges to ensure it votes liberal. Liberal is not the independent court he claims to want.
Judges come and go, and the court will change eventually without dangerous court packing. Meanwhile, our country will survive even if progressives don’t get their way for a few years.
