Time to use the 25th Amendment

President Donald Trump has truly become unhinged following his election loss. He is now lashing out at even his most reliable and faithful confidants, pardoning those who went to prison to cover for him, and threatened to veto legislation that took months for Congress to pass — all because he can’t bring himself to admit defeat.

If the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the 25th Amendment to the Constitution allows the vice president, with “a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide,” to become acting president. This might allow us to sleep a little better at night until noon Jan. 20.
