What motivates GOP governors?

Dr. Anthony Fauci’s statement that the relaxed COVID-19 restrictions by the Texas and Mississippi governors were “inexplicable” has a one-word explanation — politics.

These governors are catering to a vocal minority of ignorant puppets whose strings are being pulled by the guy who used to reside in the White House. The puppets mirror his behavior of constant disregard for scientific discovery, inability to show social courtesy, and lack of common sense.

The real question is: Are these governors puppets? Or are they abdicating their responsibility to provide a prudent level of safety for all the citizens of their states in return for an attempt to gain a few votes in some future election?
