Fox News decided to stop broadcasting in the United Kingdom in August 2017. At that time, its parent company, 20th Century Fox, told news organizations that the decision was due to low viewership. Fox News averaged only a few thousand viewers a day in the UK. The company noted that this was largely because “the network’s programming was aimed at American audiences.”
The fact that Fox News was aimed at American audiences says something about what Americans will believe. Are the lies that Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham spew out everyday really news, or just Rupert Murdoch’s lust for higher profits?
The answer to that question is Britain’s rejection of Fox “News.”
