The writer of the June 13 letter “Civilians don’t need these guns” could not be more wrong. The hard men who wrote the Second Amendment had not just returned from a hunting trip or recreational target practice. They had just fought a bloody and devastating war against a tyrant king and liberated this nation.
That is why they wrote the Second Amendment, and that is why it should not be tinkered with.
