LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

MAGA crew sinks to new low

Eric Greitens, a leading contender for the Republican Senate nomination in Missouri, released a video June 20 in which he is depicted as hunting RINOs (Republicans in Name Only).

“I’m Eric Greitens, Navy SEAL, and today we’re going RINO hunting,” Greitens says as he walks down a sidewalk with a gun in hand.

The video cuts to a house where Greitens, surrounded by what looks like a tactical unit, waits by the door. “The RINO feeds on corruption and is marked by the stripes of cowardice,” Greitens says. The unit smashes the door down and Greitens strides through.

“Join the MAGA crew,” he says. “Get a RINO-hunting permit. There’s no bagging limit, no tagging limit and it doesn’t expire until we save our country.”

OK, MAGA crew, just where do you draw the line?

It’s not enough in this country that we have repeated school shootings, vigorous opposition to reasonable gun control laws or over 20 million AR-15-style rifles legally in circulation, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a national trade association for the firearm industry.

Now a front-running GOP candidate for Senate is openly campaigning that shooting someone because of differing political views is acceptable.

What statement is sufficiently repugnant for the “MAGA crew” to say “We’ve gone too far. We’ve crossed a line”?

Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any limits, regardless of how outrageous or dangerous the words or conduct.
