Pedestrian hit by car, critically injured in Las Vegas

A woman was struck by a car and critically injured Tuesday night in the west valley, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported about 8:15 p.m. on Charleston Boulevard, east of Durango Drive, police said.

The pedestrian, a 34-year-old Las Vegas woman, entered the road outside of a marked crosswalk and into the path of the car, police said. She was taken to University Medical Center, where she was in critical condition, police said.

The driver, a 42-year-old Las Vegas woman, was not injured, police said. She remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.
