Let’s look at the upside of what the Supreme Court plans on doing. If the right to an abortion is not contained in the Constitution, then according to the court, that matter is exclusively the purview of each state to consider. As Justice Samuel Alito says, the elected representatives.
OK, folks. There is an election coming up in November. The entire House of Representatives is on the line, and many senators are up for reelection.
Since this is a very unusual situation, I would suggest that we citizens vote in only those who will support a woman’s right to determine what she does with her body.
That should give the Democratic candidates the majority in each house of Congress, and therefore will extend their influence beyond this issue. Let’s do it.
