As a union carpenter, I believe it is important to update the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage standards under consideration by the Biden administration. This is the most comprehensive proposed update in 40 years. Our members are working on highway and other projects, and we anticipate more work coming soon as a result of the new bipartisan infrastructure law.
The Davis-Bacon regulations do not ensure that prevailing wage rates reflect actual wage rates, which means workers may not be paid fairly. These proposed updates will ensure we all get the pay we earn through the hard work we put in every day.
