Charging station cost seems high

Is there a typo in the Jan. 4 story “District’s first 2 electric buses ready to make debut”? I certainly hope so, because paying $500,000 for two charging stations to charge buses that cost $400,000 each is not supportable.

I appreciate that charging stations aren’t cheap, but $50,000 is a lot more reasonable price for one than a quarter of a million dollars. A number of sources I checked suggested that even a gold-plated bus charging station should be more like $10,000 to $15,000.

If that half million-dollar price is right, I would really like to see the cost breakdown for it, including how many buses it can charge at one time.
