What has happened to the Grand Old Party of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan?
Today, its political agenda seems to be whatever goes against the Democratic Party’s policies. It’s a classic case of being the Party of No Ideas.
Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives, yet are afflicted by in-fighting, thus allowing the small,extreme but vocal minority to gain control over the more moderate majority. It’s a classic case of the tail wagging the dog.
The party’s former leader, Donald Trump, continues to be mired in legal woes, most alarmingly involving national security and his federal income taxes. It’s a classic case of believing that he lives above and beyond the law.
I long for the good ol’ days, before the GOP was hijacked by the likes of Matt Gaetz, George Santos, Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor-Greene.
