The word “flip-flop” was overused by the Republican Party acolytes during the past presidential election run-up (referring to Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry), but it is now, of course, absent vis-a-vis John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
However, McCain flip-flops. His 180-degree turnabouts on the foreclosure crisis and on whether to have a national holiday for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. show that McCain easily surrenders his principles to gain some votes.
McCain’s ploys are so blatant and hypocritical that I doubt he will reap any new voters. He is now Sen. Flip-flop.
