LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Uphold people’s will, keep term limits

Regarding the Las Vegas Sun’s Thursday story “Quietly, Reid works to void term limits: Effort to strike amendment comes as top legislators stand to lose seats”:

Shame! Shame on all these career politicians who want to thwart the will of the people. I don’t care one iota about the success or failure of term limits.

The fact of the matter is the people of this fine state passed the term limit law twice (1994 and 1996). If the Nevada Supreme Court justices changed the wording in the second year (1996) to suit themselves, that’s their problem. Fellow Nevadans: If they (and you know who “they” are) attempt to change what we have voted into law, it is time to vote every single incumbent out of office.

We might end up with some inexperienced folks running the governments of the cities, counties and state, but what the heck. They certainly can’t be any worse than the “elites” running the show now. This might be our only power left, as they don’t seem to pay attention to what we do vote on!
