Regarding a story in Friday’s Las Vegas Sun, “Unsung politician tying up budget cuts: Controller says Gibbons missed step, so agencies get more money, for now”:
Thank you for this refreshing information on an elected official, Kim Wallin, who is the state controller. She says she is “merely following the law’s requirements.” Wow, what a concept.
Will she get the support she needs to continue her honest, intelligent handling of our money? It will be interesting to see.
My husband and I have personal interest in Ms. Wallin’s career as we lost her as our CPA when she was elected. But we proudly voted for her, as we knew the state of Nevada would be getting quality service.
She is proving what we already knew, that there are honest politicians who are fully educated for the job they fill. It’s a pity some people in Nevada didn’t realize until it was too late that they should have put Dina Titus in as governor, too. It is clear the present governor will continue to be a disgrace and cause our state problems always.
