State Republicans will convene today in Reno to do nothing more than try to pretend they love John McCain. Many of the delegates there probably won’t be feeling the love – many are Mitt Romney and Ron Paul diehards. And guess who is not speaking at the unimportant Nevada convention? John McCain. But guess who is speaking at the Peppermill? Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. And, of course, we will get the usual assortment of GOP luminaries as well as Gov. Jim Gibbons, who often makes news when his lips move. His wife, first lady Dawn Gibbons, has done the Hamlet thing on a bid for national committeewoman. But no matter: As boring as it should be, the Republicans will find a way to make it interesting.
