LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Bush doesn’t deserve anyone’s approval

It boggles my 76-year-old mind that President Bush has garnered a 28 percent approval rating in the recent polls. How can he even have a double-digit approval rating based on his record in the past 7 1/2 years?

Our national debt is $9.2 trillion, or $30,000 for every man, woman and child in America.

That is up $3.5 trillion in his terms.

Clinton left him a budget surplus of $236 billion, which Bush has squandered, and Bush has a deficit of $350 billion for this year alone.

Bush’s tax cut for the wealthy few in America has cost the Treasury an average $300 billion per year. The Iraq war has cost us $700 billion so far in five years; Bush cannot win the war against a tiny nation because of his inefficient use of the military.

And Bush’s war in Iraq has killed more than 4,000 of our troops and wounded about 28,000. Bush has stretched the military so thin that experts say we cannot fight another enemy at this time. Now that is very scary.

A 28 percent approval rating? Why?
