Disrespect for Clintons is puzzling

I fail to understand why the news media are so down on the Clintons. I must have missed something along the way.

Is it because Hillary stood up for Bill and did not leave him after the Monica Lewinsky affair? On that issue, let’s face it, from the time of Thomas Jefferson, presidents in and out of the White House have had trysts and romantic affairs. In recent history, there were reports of FDR, Ike, Kennedy and Johnson having mistresses or affairs, and rumors about others.

If it is something else, what? Could it be that Bill Clinton kept us out of wars and that the economy flourished for the middle class? Could it be that he showed respect for blacks? Could it be that the media resent the fact that he withstood the Republican efforts to remove him from office?

There have been far more reasons to impeach and criminally charge George Bush and Dick Cheney with high crimes and misdemeanors than to charge Bill Clinton with lying about a tryst with Monica Lewinsky.

I wish someone would explain the dislike for the Clintons and why the news media continue their assault on them.
